Scent Detection is an activity that allows dogs to use their most developed sense, the sense of smell. In this class ,the dog will learn to search for, find and indicate to his handler where is hidden a specific odor , according to the trial rules of the Canadian Kennel Club. The goal of our puppy class is to help humans understand their dogs and how to encourage them to cooperate with them in a fun and respectful manner. For puppies 2 to 4 months old. Your puppy must not be older than 4 months when this class begins. Please contact us if your puppy is older than 4 months, as an exception. Turn your dog into an exemplary canine citizen! This structured program intensively prepares owner-dog duos to succeed in the official Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) evaluations. The 12 steps mastered during the session: 1. Accepting a friendly stranger. 2. Sitting politely for petting. 3. Appearance and grooming (checking paws and ears). 4. Loose-leash walking. 5. Walking in a crowd. 6. Obedience to commands (sit, down, stay). 7. Recall from a distance. 8. Reaction to another dog. 9. Reaction to a distraction (noises, objects). 10. Supervised isolation (calm 3-minute separation). 11. Confidence in an unusual situation. 12. Passing through a door in a controlled manner.
